Card Types
There are many different card types at our site, all indicated by the
label just under the card image.
"Flash Animated" are the most animated cards. They use a popular software
called Flash which is installed on the majority of browsers on the
Internet and works on both PC's and Macs. Many flash cards can be
interactive or seem almost like movies.
"Animated" cards are simple animations. Most of the cards with this
label will have a character with a simple or little movement, such as
a child waving his hand or a butterfly flapping its wings.
"Postcards" are static images, much like a photograph you would take
with your camera. There is no movement and no interaction with these
cards.
Cards marked with a "P" or "Premium" label mean they are available
to Premium members only. Over 95% of the cards on our site are FREE and
do not not have this label!
Sending a Card
The first step when sending a card is to find a card you like. You can do
this two different ways: by browsing through different categories on the
site or by using the search box.
Browsing the Site...
On the front page there is a box with a list of the most popular categories
on our site. Clicking on any of these will show you cards available for
those events. Try clicking on "Birthdays" now. This will take you to
the birthday card section.
Notice the list on the left hand side of the page? This is the sub-category
list which shows you related items to Birthdays. Currently you are in the
top section called "Favorites" (which should be highlighted). The Favorites
sub-category shows you the top 10-12 favorite cards sent by our visitors.
Clicking on any of the other sub-categories will show you those cards. Try
clicking on "General" now. This will bring you to a page showing general
purpose Birthday cards available. This section is very large so there
are multiple pages to browse. You can click on a page number just above
the card images or click on the << or >> arrows to go to the
next or last page.
When you see a card that interests you, just click on the picture. You
will be brought to a page showing the card as it will look when it is viewed.
Some cards have "features" that can be changed such as the "gender" of
the card, the card music, or effects on the card (for example a winter
card may have an option for a snow effect). Cards with selectable features
will display a notice on this page. Selectable features such as
changing music are only available to Premium members, although most cards
can be sent "as is" for free (without membership.)
If you are not interested in sending this card, just click "Keep Looking"
and you will be brought back to the browsing page to find another card.
If you wish to send this card, just click on the "Customize" button. You
will be taken to a page where you can fill in the message and recipients
email address and name.
While browsing for a card, take a look just under the top menu bar and you
should see a "Navigation Path" such as:
Home > Birthday > General
This shows you where you are currently on the site. You can click on any
of the category names to jump back to that section. For example, clicking
on "Home" will take you to the front page of the site. Clicking on
"Birthday" will take you back to the original Birthday browsing page.
One other thing to remember. If you cannot find a category that
interests you, click on "All Categories" on the left side of the page,
or on "More Cards..." on the front page of the site. This will bring you
to a page showing nearly all categories available on the site.
Using the Search Box...
On the front page of the site there is a search box. You can type
the name of a specific category you are looking for such as:
Anniversary
Birthday Cards
Corporate Thank You
You can also use prefixes such as "Free", "Non-Animated", "Postcard",
"Animated", or "Flash Animated" to find those specific types of cards.
For example:
Free Non-Animated Wedding Cards
Will show you all wedding cards that do not require membership
and have no animation (postcards).
